At the end of October, the COE, pianist Dénes Várjon and violinist Veronika Eberle will be performing Haydn’s Symphony No. 34, Hummel’s Concerto for Piano, Violin and orchestra, Janacek’s Concertino and Mendelssohn’s Concerto for Piano, Violin and strings. We will be at the Kammermusiksaal der Philharmonie in Berlin on 27^th October and at the Schloss Esterhazy in Eisenstadt on 28^th October. Some of our players and Dénes will then travel to Budapest to give a concert in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy, featuring repertoire by Mozart, Janacek, Schubert and Dvorak on 29th October.

We are delighted that our concert in Eisenstadt will be broadcast live on Medici TV to their thousands of subscribers across the world. This is the result of our partnership with Medici and Schloss Esterhazy in the context of the COE’s residency in Eisenstadt until 2024. Medici have agreed to broadcast all our concerts at Schloss Esterhazy, considerably increasing the visibility of the Orchestra as well as establishing Eisenstadt as a world-class cultural and musical destination at the heart of Europe. The COE is thrilled to be performing with Dénes Várjon again. Our last tour together dates back to February 2020 and took us to the Netherlands, Belgium and of course Hungary, Dénes’s home country. Little did we know that this was going to be our last tour before the world went into lockdown. At the time, our concerts also featured Dénes’s wife Izabella Simon, COE Leader Lorenza Borrani and COE Principal Flute Clara Andrada in repertoire by Bach, Beethoven and Mozart.

This is the Orchestra’s fourth project with Veronika Eberle who started with us by sharing a couple of tours with Lisa Batiashvili back in 2018. We met again in August 2021 for concerts with violist Amihai Grosz, directed by COE leader Lorenza Borrani.
