Livia Duleba
“From my first day in Graz, every minute was so exciting, I enjoyed my time very much! When I heard the first rehearsal I felt so lucky to be part of this project and to have the possibility to learn from the members of the Orchestra.
It was inspiring to watch maestro Nikolaus Harnoncourt working with the Orchestra: the musicians followed his instructions to the highest level artistically and technically, it was amazing.
During the week I had lessons with the COE’s principal flute, Clara Andrada de la Calle. I feel that this work will have great influence on my entire career in the future. Her revolutionary ideas have completely changed my vision of flute-playing.
She shared with me lots of musical ideas, taught me new methods to develop my skills to achieve a higher level as an artist.
She is a fantastic soloist and teacher and my plan is to stay in contact with her and have more lessons with her in the future, in order to continue the work what we started.
I was thrilled to be given the possibility to play with COE players in a woodwind quintet in a rehearsal. I’m really grateful to Clara for organising the session and to Camilla for arranging the parts. I enjoyed the quintet rehearsal very much! I was amazed by their chamber music-playing. Technically and artistically, they play on the highest level and it was an honour for me to play with them!
It was a great experience to spend a couple days with Clara and the Orchestra and I had great pleasure in listening to an orchestra where the musicians play with so much passion, from the heart. The rehearsals were very interesting and the opera première was simply perfect. Thank you for giving me the chance to spend this wonderful week with the Orchestra! This has been a milestone in my musical education.”
