Nordland Music Festival 2024

For its northern-most concert ever, the COE, led by Lorenza Borrani, is joined by mezzo-soprano Marianne Beate Kielland for the opening concert of the Nordland Music Festival on 3rd August at the Stormen Concert Hall in Bodø, Norway. This is in the context of Bodø being European Capital of Culture 2024. The programme includes works by Grieg, Mendelssohn, Mahler and Beethoven, all arranged for string orchestra – plus two clarinets for some pieces.

Herbstgold 2024

For this year’s Herbstgold Festival at its residency in Schloss Esterhazy (Eisenstadt), the COE will be joined by Martha Argerich, Iddo Bar-Shai, narrator and daughter of Martha Argerich Annie Argerich-Dutoit and COE’s associate Leader Marieke Blankestijn for the Festival’s opening concert on 11th September, featuring works by Haydn as well as Saint-Saens’s Carnival of the Animals. On 14th September, the Orchestra will perform works by Beethoven and Tchaikovsky with Julian Rachlin, director of the Festival, and pianist Yefim Bronfman.

Tour to Antwerp and Ghent (September 2024)

The Chamber Orchestra of Europe will be performing two concerts in Antwerp and Ghent this September with conductor Valentin Uryupin and cellist Julia Hagen. The concerts will feature works by Bartok, Schumann, Prokofiev and Shostakovich. We look forward to working with both artists for the first time.

Kronberg Festival 2024

At this year’s festival, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe will perform a number of concerts with Sir András Schiff, Heinz Holliger, pianist Kirill Gerstein, violinist Ilya Gringolts, alumni from the Kronberg Academy, as well as Martina Consonni from Sir András Schiff’s Building Bridges initiative on 25th, 28th and 29th September at the Casals Forum.
