Introduction

Who are we?

  • A chamber orchestra by conviction – we listen to each other, we value every voice and live music through our passionate, authentic and uncompromising playing.
  • An exemplary model – one of the first privately financed and democratically organized orchestras in Europe, whose members and partners are united by their belief in European ideals such as freedom, democracy and diversity.
  • Lifelong learners – curious about working with open-minded and inspiring artists who bring something special to the table… so that we can also offer something special!

What do we do?

  • We create unique concert experiences with like-minded partners who share our values, learn with us and become our friends!
  • We maintain sustainable relationships with musicians, concert organisers, with our residencies (Kronberg Academy, Esterházy Palace, Festspielhaus Baden Baden, Philharmonie Berlin) – and of course with our sponsors and supporters!
  • We live and breathe Europe – its values, its traditions and its rich musical culture!

What do we need?

  • Support to finance travel and fair fees to ensure quality, for the transport of instruments etc.
  • Support for special projects with which we further develop international concert life.
  • Support in the realization of new ideas in the education sector.

Why do we need you?

  • The COE has no fixed base and does not receive any public funding – we only finance ourselves through concert fees and private donations.
  • This special form of organization entails higher costs for travel and accommodation – we travel to each project from different countries.
  • Like any independent company, we are exposed to the fluctuations of the market: inflation, increased costs for travel, energy and management – with stagnating income due to reduced public cultural spending.
