“As part of the COE Academy programme I joined the Orchestra during their recording sessions and concerts in Baden-Baden. It was really fascinating to see the project in the making especially since I have followed the Orchestra’s recordings for quite a long time now. The programme was Mozart’s opera La Clemenza di Tito, which I did not know so well before but ended up liking a lot. I learned so much, not only from the lessons with principal bassoonist Matthew Wilkie and the chamber music session, but also from sitting in every rehearsal and watching the amazing singers and conductor in action. I would like to thank everybody for this opportunity, the amazing atmosphere and energy – I felt really welcome.”
