Giovanni Quaglia, Office Manager and Librarian

“What I love most about the COE is being able to work in a creative and stimulating environment surrounded by open-minded colleagues who are passionate about music. Being part of such an amazing orchestra gives me the opportunity to work with  some of the best musicians and artists in the classical music world, a rare and enriching experience”.

Giovanni joined the COE as Office Manager and Librarian in September 2016 and he is responsible for the smooth-running of the office together with the preparation of music scores for orchestral projects.

Giovanni studied at the Conservatoire Giuseppe Verdi of Milan where he obtained a Flute Diploma in 2008. Subsequently he graduated with a Master degree in performance at the Conservatoire in Brescia in 2011. After working for the Academy of La Scala Opera House in Milan, he decided to pursue a career in arts management which took him to Sheffield where he graduated in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Music Management. Since then, he has worked for several arts organisations such as the European Union Youth Orchestra, The National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and the BBC Music Library. In his spare time he enjoys swimming, listening to music and hiking.
