Giovanni Quaglia, Finance and Project Manager
“What I love most about the COE is being able to work in a creative and stimulating environment surrounded by open-minded colleagues who are passionate about music. Being part of such an amazing orchestra gives me the opportunity to work with some of the best musicians and artists in the classical music world, a rare and enriching experience”.
Giovanni joined the COE in September 2016. As well as his work on contracts, finance and administration he is responsible for managing the COE Orchestral Academy projects. Additionally, he works in support of the touring department, assisting with advance planning as well as tour and stage management.
Giovanni studied at the Conservatoire Giuseppe Verdi of Milan where he obtained a Flute Diploma in 2008. Subsequently he graduated with a Master degree in performance at the Conservatoire in Brescia in 2011. After working for the Academy of La Scala Opera House in Milan, he decided to pursue a career in arts management which took him to Sheffield where he graduated in 2013 with a Master of Arts in Music Management. Since then, he has worked for several arts organisations such as the European Union Youth Orchestra, The National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain and the BBC Music Library. In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, listening to music and hiking.
