Håkan Ehrén, Double Bass (Associate)

Håkan Ehrén has been performing with the COE since 1996 and became an associate member of the Orchestra in 2010. He has had the position of principal bass in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra since 1990 and has held the same position in the Gothenburg Symphony, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam and the London Symphony Orchestra over the years. Håkan was a professor at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm for fifteen years and was a prize-winner in competitions in Munich (ARD), Rome and Reims. Håkan has also recorded concertos for double-bass by E Tubin and L-E Larsson for the recording label BIS.
